This figurine of  "Turtle Family" is a Dhokra Metal Casting made by the Domar Tribe of Odisha. It is a tribal art form & completely handcrafted.

Around the world, the tortoise and/or turtle can be seen as a symbol of wisdom and knowledge and is able to defend itself on its own. It can be regarded as personifying water, the moon, the Earth, time, immortality, and fertility.

This is a 4000-year-old non-ferrous metal casting started at the dawn of (Mohenjadaro and Harappa) civilization and tribal people are still maintaining their legacy.

This is made by the lost wax technique and uses brass metal, clay, bee wax, cow dung, resin, and nut oil. to prepare this unique art.
